Mrs. Jennie Nobel, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Gritters, was born in Diever, the Netherlands On December 3, 1880. At the age of seventeen she came to America with her parents and two brothers and five sisters, all of whom preceded her in death.

On February I9, 1903, she was united in marriage to Mr. Bastiaan Nobel. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. The first three years of their married life were spent on a farm near Hull. They then moved to Matlock where they resided until the year 1915 when they moved to a farm in the Rock Valley area.

Mr. Nobel died in 1916 leaving his wife to care for their five small children.

In 1931 Mrs. Nobel moved to Hull where she resided until the time of her death on Wednesday Morning, April 13, 1966.

One daughter, Delia, and a son Henry, passed away in 1945 and a son, John, died in 1952. One grandson also preceded her in death. Two daughters, Magdalena (Mrs Pete Van Otterloo) and Rose (Mr. Hernan Van Ottertoo), as well as twenty grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren survive to mourn her passing.

Funeral servives were held at the First Christian Reformed church of Hull, Saturday, April 16, 1966, with Rev. G.J. Rozenboom officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Interment was in Hope Cemetery at Hull, Iowa.
